Ingredients: Jumbalaya

  • 2 1/2 onion
  • 1 minced garlic
  • 2 cup long grain rice
  • 1/2 packages butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 packages ham cubed
  • 1 lb bite sized smoked sausage
  • 2 ribs of celery chopped
  • 3 chicken breast torn into small pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 salt and pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayanne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp tabasco
  • 1 can ragu prego tomato sauce

How to Make Jumbalaya

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 11 steps you must follow to make Jumbalaya in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • boil chicken till tender in water
  • Step 2
  • add chopped celery,onion and minced garlic to boiling chicken water
  • Step 3
  • cool chicken under cold water and shred when done
  • Step 4
  • keep leftover chicken broth
  • Step 5
  • add rice to broth
  • Step 6
  • chop meats and cook in pan till brown
  • Step 7
  • set aside meats and saute onion, bell pepper, parsley and minced garlic in butter
  • Step 8
  • add meats back in
  • Step 9
  • stir in whichever tomato sauce
  • Step 10
  • add seasonings and spices
  • Step 11
  • once rice is done mix together
