Ingredients: Kachumber

  • 1 small cucumber (or half a normal one)
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 salad onion
  • 1 green chile
  • 1 bunch fresh coriander
  • 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make Kachumber

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Kachumber in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Chop the onion, cucumber and coriander and put them in a bowl. If you are using chile, seed and chop it and add too
  • Step 2
  • Plunge the tomatoes in boiling water for 30 seconds to loosen the skin
  • Step 3
  • While they are in the water squeese the lemon juice over the other ingredients
  • Step 4
  • Peel the tomatoes with your fingers and chop (usually kachumber recipes recommend seeding the tomatoes, but I never do)
  • Step 5
  • Add the tomatoes to the salad.
  • Step 6
  • Stir well, add salt and pepper, stir again and leave to sit for half an hour before serving. Enjoy!
