  • 1 cup Onion
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese

  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp Parsley
  • 3 pinch Ground black pepper (optional)
  • 1/3 cup Canned jalapeno slices (optional)
  • Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cup All purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup Lukewarm milk
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 3/4 tsp Salt

How to Make Korean Onion Bread

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 18 steps you must follow to make Korean Onion Bread in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Sift 2 cups of all purpose flour.
  • Step 2
  • Add 2 tbsp of sugar, 2 tsp of dry active yeast and 3/4 tsp salt.

  • Add 3 tbsp butter and 3/4 lukewarm milk.
  • Step 4
  • Mix everything gently and knead the dough.
  • Step 5
  • Knead dough for about 10 minutes or until surface of the dough becomes smooth and gets a nice elastic texture.

  • Form into a ball and place in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap.
  • Step 7
  • Leave in warm place such as an unheated oven with light on.Let dough rise for an hour or until it doubles in size.
  • Step 8
  • In separate bowl mix remaining ingredients. 1/2 cup bacon, 1 cup onion, 1 cup mozzarella cheese and jalapenos for a little kick (optional)
  • Step 9
  • Add 2 pinches of ground black pepper to mixture.
  • Step 10
  • Now roll the dough into a 12 x 10 inch rectangle.
  • Step 11
  • Spread about 2/3 of the onion mixture in the center off the dough. Spread out the mixture evenly.
  • Step 12
  • Fold dough inward from both sides. Seal the top by pinching the two sides together with your fingers.
  • Step 13
  • Place sealed bread in a loaf bread pan.
  • Step 14
  • Spread 1 tbsp of mayonnaise evenly the top surface of the bread.
  • Step 15
  • Preheat to 375°f
  • Step 16
  • Sprinkle ground black pepper on top of mayonnaise.
  • Step 17
  • Put the remaining onion mixture evenly ob top of the bread and sprinkle about 1/2 tsp of parsley
  • Step 18
  • Bake for 45 minutes at 375°f then turn off and finish baking the bread for another 15 minutes
