  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/3 cup caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vinegar

    Step 1
  • Pre heat oven to 110°C / 215°F .
  • Step 2
  • Lightly grease a large oven tray then line with baking paper and then lightly grease the baking paper and then dust the tray with cornflour , shaking off the excess flour . Set aside till needed .
  • Step 3
  • Place the egg whites into a clean dry bowl .
  • Step 4
  • Using electric mixers , beat the egg whites till soft peaks form .
  • Step 5
  • Gradually add the caster sugar , a little at a time (about a tablespoon full at a time) till mixture becomes smooth and glossy and that all sugar has been dissolved into the mixture . Then add the vinegar and mix will to combine .
  • Step 6
  • Either spoon the prepared mixture onto the prepared lined tray or pipe the mixture onto the prepared lined tray , the choice is yours .
  • Step 7
  • Place the tray of prepared Maringues into the preheated oven for at least 1 hour or until turned pale colour slightly and are firm and crisp . Now turn the oven off and leave the oven door open ajar slightly till they cool completely .
  • Step 8
  • Remove from the oven and serve at room temp . Great for party snacks with cream and fruit and on their own kids love them . Serve and enjoy . :-) .
