  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar, for marinating
  • 1/4 cup lime juice, fresh juiced
  • 12 oz cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar, for sugaring
  • 2 large limes, zest and pulp from juicing

How to Make Lime-Sugared Cranberries

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Lime-Sugared Cranberries in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Dissolve the sugar into the water and lime juice into a large 2 quart saucepan, and heat to boiling.
  • Step 2
  • Reduce by about a third.
  • Step 3
  • Let the water cool to about lukewarm, and then add the cranberries. Be sure to clean the cranberries first.
  • Step 4
  • Toss the saucepan into the freezer for about 45 minutes, stirring the mixture about every 10 minutes or so.
  • Step 5
  • Meanwhile, combine the zest, pulp, and sugar in a bowl, mixing thoroughly, and then spread the mixture out on a cookie sheet.
  • Step 6
  • Pour the liquid from the cranberries and use as a delicious base for cranberry limeade.
  • Step 7
  • Roll the sticky cranberries around in the lime sugar until covered, and then let them all dry in the cookie sheet for an hour or so.
  • Step 8
  • Plate and serve.
