If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Linzer cookies in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a bowl of an electric mixer, mix the butter (room temperature) until creamy
  • Step 2
  • Add the powdered sugar and mix. Than add in the same bowl, the egg yolks, vanilla extract, lemon or orange zest and mix for 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Add the almonds flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Mix!
  • Step 4
  • Finally add the flour all at once. Mix on low speed until the dough starts to come together. Dump onto a surface dusted with flour and shape into a flat disk. Wrap in plastic and pit it in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  • Step 5
  • Roll the dough 1/4 inch and cut 2 3/4 inch rounds with a plain or fluted cutter. With 1/2 of the rounds, cut a hole from the middle of each round with a heart or round small shape. I cut them with a star shape..

  • Step 7
  • Bake the cookies until the edges begin to brown. Allow to cool to room temperature.

  • Step 9
  • Enjoy them with your family!
