  • 1 large sweet onion
  • 1/2 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1 block sharp cheddar cheese
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 16 oz mayonnaise

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 10 steps you must follow to make Loaded Potato Casserole in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven 350°
  • Step 2
  • Boil whole potatoes (skin on) until fork can be inserted.
  • Step 3
  • Fry bacon until crispy and then crumble.
  • Step 4
  • Dice onion and saute in butter until transparent.
  • Step 5
  • Shred block of cheese.
  • Step 6
  • In large bowl mix sour cream and mayo together.
  • Step 7
  • Add the cooked onion and crumbled bacon. (I reserved some bacon for the top)
  • Step 8
  • Fold potatoes into sour cream/mayo mixture.
  • Step 9
  • Make layers beginning with potatoes then cheese. I made 2 layers. Top with cheese and bacon.
  • Step 10
  • Bake at 350° uncovered for 1 hour.
