Ingredients: Lovely Sunday Roast Lamb

  • 1 Shoulder or leg of lamb
  • 1 tbsp fresh Rosemary Sprigs
  • to taste Salt & pepper
  • 1 squeeze of lemon
  • Gravy
  • The lamb stock when you remove the lamb when cooked
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 tsp heaped corn flour / starch

How to Make Lovely Sunday Roast Lamb

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Lovely Sunday Roast Lamb in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put the lamb in a Roasting dish, spray olive oil on the skin side and run into the lamb. Then add your Rosemary Sprigs and squash down on top
  • Step 2
  • Then spray again with olive oil
  • Step 3
  • Squeeze the lemon all over and pat down the Rosemary, then add salt and pepper to it, I used sea salt and black cracked pepper.
  • Step 4
  • Cover with foil loosely over the top and cook in a 160C / gas 6 preheated oven for 1 hour.
  • Step 5
  • After the hour take off the tin foil and baste with a spoon the juices in the bottom of the dish .
  • Step 6
  • Put it back in the oven for about 15 mins then it's ready to carve, serve with mint sauce.
  • Step 7
  • Use the juices off the lamb and add a chicken stock in a cup of hot water and two heaped teaspoon cornflour / starch to thicken . Put back in the oven or tip it into a saucepan and bring to the boil and stir as it thickens, There is your gravy, serve with mint sauce.
