  • 1 tbsp bacon grease or oil
  • 1 head small cabbage, sliced thinly
  • 1/2 large onion, chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 lb Diced ham
  • 1 can Ragu mozzerella sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz Ziti pasta
  • 8 oz shredded mozzerella

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Lower carb cheesy Carbonara in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Saute cabbage in your oil over medium heat for 5 minutes. I used bacon grease for more flavor.
  • Step 2
  • Add your diced onion, ham, and mushroom to the cabbage. Sautee on medium for 2 or 3 minutes, then turn to low.
  • Step 3
  • Season sauteing vegetables and ham as you wish. I added pepper, seasoned salt, and garlic.
  • Step 4
  • Meanwhile, boil your noodles until al dente.
  • Step 5
  • When the noodles are finished add them to the saute pan along with the ragu mozzerella sauce and heavy cream.
  • Step 6
  • Mix well and pour into a 9x13 casserole dish. Add Mozzerella cheese on top. Bake at 450 until top is a light golden brown. About 20 to 25 minutes. Sprinkle with parmesan if desired.
