  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 lb whole grain elbow macaroni
  • 16 oz velveeta cheese with 2%milk
  • 4 cup 2% milk

How to Make macaroni and cheese

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make macaroni and cheese in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • cook elbow macaroni for 9 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • drain, cover and set aside
  • Step 3
  • in saucepan, melt margarine or butter, blend flour, salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
  • cook until mixture is smooth and bubbly; gradually add milk.
  • Step 5
  • cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils; simmer 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Step 6
  • gradually mix in cheese. stir over low heat until cheese is melted.
  • Step 7
  • add pasta; mix together lightly. pour into 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Step 8
  • bake 25 minutes.
