  • 1/2 cup Magarine (125g)
  • 1 cup Castor Sugar(250ml)
  • 2 Extra Large Eggs
  • 1 Grated Rind of 1 Lemon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence(5ml)
  • 2 cup Cake Flour (500ml)
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder (10ml)
  • 1 cup Milk (250ml)

How to Make Madeira Cake

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 2 steps you must follow to make Madeira Cake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • ~Cream Margarine n Sugar until light n fluffy ~Beat in the eggs,Lemon Rind n Vanilla essence ~Sift flour n Baking powder together and mix into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk ~Pour into a greased 23cm (9inch) loaf tin and bake at 180°F (350 F) for ± 1hour
  • Step 2
  • *Variation: Cherry Cake Add 250ml (1Cup) cherries chopped, to the cake mixture and fold in.
