  • 1 Egg
  • 50 grams Sugar
  • 50 grams Cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 50 grams Butter

How to Make Madeleine

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Madeleine in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Mix the egg and sugar in a bowl, and sift in the cake flour and baking powder, then mix some more.
  • Step 2
  • Melt the butter, and add to Step [1], then mix. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit for at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Step 3
  • Thinly grease the pan with butter and dust with flour (amount excluded from ingredient list). Fill the pan with the batter about 70% and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes at 190℃.
  • Step 4
  • The small bump on the tops are an indication of delicious madeleines!
  • Step 5
  • Adding honey makes the madeleine more moist, and gives them mild taste. Add 1-3 teaspoons during Step [2].
