  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Shortening
  • 2 stick Butter softened
  • 3 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 3 cup Sugar
  • 1 dash of salt
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

How to Make Margaret's Pound Cake

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 325.
  • Step 2
  • Cream the butter, shortening and sugar
  • Step 3
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
  • Step 4
  • Add vanilla extract. ( You can use any extract flavor you like. I've used lemon and almond and they taste great!)
  • Step 5
  • In a separate bowl combine the flour, salt and baking powder, mix well
  • Step 6
  • Alternately with the milk, add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, and mix well after each addition
  • Step 7
  • Pour into a greased and floured bundt or tube pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes
  • Step 8
