  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1 lb thawed fully cooked frozen meatballs
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 8oz block softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning
  • 1 26oz jar of tomato pasta sauce
  • 1/2 cup water

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 12 steps you must follow to make Meatball sub casserole in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Step 2
  • slice bread loaf into 1inch slices. I usually do 5-6 slices depending on width of loaf.
  • Step 3
  • If you want your casserole bread base firm, then lightly toast them directly on the preheated oven rack..(i prefer/recommend doing this)
  • Step 4
  • place bread into bottom of lightly greased casserole pan.
  • Step 5
  • mix seasonings, cream cheese, and mayonnaise together. Make sure to mix very well.
  • Step 6
  • spread mixture over bread evenly.
  • Step 7
  • sprinkle 1/2 of mozzarella over mixture.
  • Step 8
  • mix sauce, meatballs and water together
  • Step 9
  • pour on top of casserole evenly
  • Step 10
  • sprinkle rest of cheese on top
  • Step 11
  • bake 30-35 minutes until bubbly and thoroughly heated.
