  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 cup corn kernels (1 can- 15 1/4 oz.) drained
  • 1/2 cup queso fresco cheese
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped
  • 3 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp ground comino
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onions
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • Green Chili Cheese Sauce
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 5 tbsp flour
  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 can (4 oz)chopped green chilies
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 1/4 tsp salt

How to Make Mexican Corn Cakes with Green Chili Sauce

    Step 1
  • Mix masa, flour, baking soda, salt & pepper and ground comino. Stir. Mix in corn, cilantro and queso fresco cheese. Set aside.

  • Heat 3 tbsp butter in a small skillet and saute onions and garlic until golden brown.

  • In a medium saucepan melt butter. Add flour and whisk until incorporated to make a roux.

  • Slowly pour in chicken stock and continue to stir.
