Ingredients: Mexican Rice

  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cilantro (sliced)
  • 1 (optional) tomato diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 packages sazón (all purpose seasoning)
  • 1 tbsp Goya brand sofrito (optional)
  • 1 green onions (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 lime / lemon

How to Make Mexican Rice

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Mexican Rice in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat pan with oil.
  • Step 2
  • Once heated, place garlic, onion, cilantro, green onions and tomato in pan with oil. Let it simmer for a few minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Add the cup of rice to the pan (medium-low fire) and mix around so that all the simmered ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  • Step 4
  • Add tomato sauce, sazón, and sofrito.
  • Step 5
  • Mix well.
  • Step 6
  • Add water and salt. Once boiling, bring down to a low heat. Cover and let sit for approx 20 min.
  • Step 7
  • Squeeze some lime on top and Enjoy!
