  • 1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup White rice
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 3 tsp Chicken flavor bouillon
  • 1/3 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 jalapeño (optional)

How to Make Mexican Rice

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Mexican Rice in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oil in saucepan
  • Step 2
  • Add rice to oil. Stir constantly until rice turns golden brown.
  • Step 3
  • Add chicken bouillon and garlic salt
  • Step 4
  • Add tomato sauce. OK to substitute for fresh chopped tomato
  • Step 5
  • Mix. Add water. Mix again.
  • Step 6
  • If using jalapeño, cut in half and seed. Then put in saucepan to give extra kick of spice.
  • Step 7
  • Cover. Lower heat and let simmer about 15 minutes or until all water is gone.
