  • Taquitos
  • 1 I used left over chicken, but you can use any kind of meat
  • 1 packet of tortillas (quantity varies on amount of meat)
  • 1 Oil/ Crisco (for frying)
  • Toppings
  • 1 Shredded Lettuce
  • 1 Sour Cream
  • 1 Hot Sauce
  • 1 Guacamole/ Avocado
  • 1 Cheese

How to Make Mexican Taquitos

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Mexican Taquitos in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • If using chicken, shred first
  • Step 2
  • Put oil or crisco in pan and turn heat up to low-medium
  • Step 3
  • Warm up a few tortillas (about 5 at a time) in the microwave for 30-60 seconds (cover with Damp paper towel to not dry them out)
  • Step 4
  • Roll a small amount of chicken in one tortilla. Repeat.
  • Step 5
  • Now the oil or crisco should be hot enough. Place each rolled tortilla in pan with fold side Down
  • Step 6
  • Turn each tortilla when browned on one side. Keep turning them until they are golden brown.
  • Step 7
  • You can place on a strainer to avoid any excess oil
  • Step 8
  • Serve with toppings and enjoy!
