  • 3 cup flour
  • Caramel Frosting
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 5 oz can evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

How to Make Miss Lizzie's Pound Cake

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Miss Lizzie's Pound Cake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat one cup butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer; gradually add 3 cups sugar and salt. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; set aside.
  • Step 2
  • Combine milk and flavoring; add to butter mixture alternately with flour. Spread batter in a greased and floured 10" tube pan. Bake at 325° for one hour or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step 3
  • In a saucepan, combine all frosting ingredients except vanilla. Cook over medium heat 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Immediately spread over cooled cake.
