  • 1 Cut mochi

    Step 1
  • Finely mince the mochi (this is important, so give it your all! Be careful not to cut yourself.)
  • Step 2
  • Cover the plate in your oven toaster with aluminum foil and spread out the minced mochi. Try to make it a uniform layer.
  • Step 3
  • Cook for about 3 minutes in the oven toaster, then turn over. Don't worry if it's still a bit sticky.
  • Step 4
  • Turn over and cook for an additional 2 minutes or less. Don't let it burn, cook it to where it's still white.
  • Step 5
  • Once cooked break into further small pieces. If you find any large hard lumps, remove and set aside.
  • Step 6
  • Melt the chocolate (for the microwave, 50 seconds in 2 parts (600 W) should be ok!).
  • Step 7
  • Mix in the melted chocolate with the crumbled mochi from Step 5. Keep mixing until there's no white spots left.
  • Step 8
  • Make bite-sized pieces on a pan and refrigerate to harden.
