  • 5 lb red potatoes
  • 1 large shallot (thinly sliced)
  • 1 1/2 cup good mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 dash celery salt
  • 1 dash onion powder
  • 2 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 Salt & Pepper to taste

How to Make Mom's Potato Salad

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Mom's Potato Salad in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Boil potatoes until fork tender and let cool completely.
  • Step 2
  • Peel potato skins if desired and cut into bite size pieces.
  • Step 3
  • Combine all other ingredients and mix well. (Sometimes I add more of the dressing, sometimes less. Adjust the amount and tweek ingredients to your liking)
  • Step 4
  • Pour dressing over potatoes and gently coat everything.
  • Step 5
  • Refrigerate until cold.
