  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 4 slice cheese (I use American)
  • 1 Seasonings of your liking

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Mom's Tomato Melts in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Core tomato and slice into 1/4 inch slices.
  • Step 2
  • Split English muffins so you have 4 halves. Toast to desired doneness.
  • Step 3
  • Remove toasted muffins from the toaster and place on oven safe tray.
  • Step 4
  • Put a slice of tomato on each toasted muffin half.
  • Step 5
  • Season tomatoes with your favorite spices or leave them plain like I do.
  • Step 6
  • Add a slice of cheese on top of each tomato slice.
  • Step 7
  • Put in oven and broil or bake until cheese is melted and browned to your liking.
  • Step 8
  • Enjoy!! This was one of my favorite ways to enjoy fresh tomatoes from the garden.
