  • 1 packages Ritz crackers
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 Bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp mustard

How to Make Momma's Best Meatloaf

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Momma's Best Meatloaf in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Step 2
  • In a large mixing bowl, crush crackers with a potato masher.
  • Step 3
  • Add beef and stir.
  • Step 4
  • Add bell pepper, onion, & tomato. Stir.
  • Step 5
  • Add salt, pepper, eggs, & mustard. Mix well.
  • Step 6
  • Shape mixture into a loaf pan or 3-4 quart dish & cover with foil.
  • Step 7
  • Cook at 350° for 1 hour or until well done. (IMPORTANT: To avoid a dirty oven, make sure there is a cookie sheet or tray underneath to catch overflowing grease.)
  • Step 8
  • For extra taste, take out 10 minutes early and spread ketchup, tomato sauce (my favorite), or diced tomatoes on top. Or see sweet topping below. Return to oven for 10-15 minutes.
  • Step 9
  • Sweet topping: Combine 1-1/2 tbsp brown sugar, 1-1/2 tbsp yellow mustard, 1/4 cup ketchup.
