  • 4 SHANKS (EISBEIN)
  • 12 CLOVES
  • 6 BAY LEAVES
  • 1 ONION CUT INTO HALF
  • 60 ml BLACK PEPPER
  • 60 ml MUSTARD
  • 60 ml HONEY
  • 60 ml MELTED BUTTER

How to Make MY EISBEIN

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make MY EISBEIN in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • PUT THE SHANKS. IN A LARGE POT
  • Step 2
  • STUD THE HALVED ONIONS WITH THE 12 CLOVES AND ADD TO THE POT TOGETHER WITH THE BROWN SUGAR,BAY. LEAVES AND BLACK PEPPER
  • Step 3
  • COVER THE SHANKS WITH WATER AND BRING TO THE BOIL. REDUCE THE HEAT AND SIMMER. FOR 90-120 MINUTES OR UNTIL THE MEAT IS. SOFT.
  • Step 4
  • PREHEAT. THE OVEN TO 220'C
  • Step 5
  • REMOVE THE SHANKS FROM THE POT ONTO ROASTING PAN
  • Step 6
  • MIX MUSTARD,HONEY AND MELTED BUTTER AND BRUSH OVER THE SHANKS
  • Step 7
  • ROAST IN THE PREHEATED. OVEN UNTIL THE SKIN IS CRISPY
  • Step 8
  • SERVE WITH MASHED POTATOES OR PAP IF YOU ARE FROM SA
