  • 1/2 lb diced bacon
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 rib celery, diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 lb red potatoes, cubed
  • 1 1/2 quart heavy cream
  • 4 can (6.5oz) chopped clams; reserve juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 1 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 Worcestershire & salt to taste

    Step 1
  • In pot, cook bacon over med-high heat until crisp. Add onion & celery; cook, stirring 3min.
  • Step 2
  • Stir in butter, then flour. Stir in cream, clams and their juice & potatoes; cover. Cook over medium heat 10-12min. until potatoes are tender and soup thickens.
  • Step 3
  • Add dill, pepper, Worcestershire & salt; heat through.
