  • 1/2 bunch nira (chinese chives) (wash and cut into 3cm pieces)
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 1/2 tbsp sake
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tsp sugar

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Niratama (egg & chinese chives) in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Combine all seasonings in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. (after boiled about 30 sec)
  • Step 2
  • Add nira, stir and simmer over medium-low heat until cooked. (nira is cooked in a flash)
  • Step 3
  • Pour the beaten egg evenly on surface and cook for 20~30 sec over low heat. Cover with a lid and turn off the heat. Steam the egg until desired doneness.
