  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 FILLING
  • 1 jar smuckers Caramel spoonable ice cream topping
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 package(6 oz) of semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 15 steps you must follow to make Oatmeal carmelitas in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • heat oven to 350°
  • Step 2
  • grease a 13x9 " pan
  • Step 3
  • lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off
  • Step 4
  • in a large bowl, combine all crust ingredients and mix at slow speed intil crumbly

  • reserve half of the mixture( about 3 cups) for topping.

  • press remaining crumb mixture into bottom of greased pan.

  • meanwhile, in small bowl, combine caramel topping and 3 tablespoons of flour; blend well!

  • remove partially baked crust from oven.

  • sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts

  • drizzle evenly with caramel mixure; then sprinkle with the reserved crumb mixture.
  • Step 12
  • return to oven; bake for an additional 18 to 22 min.
  • Step 13
  • or until golden brown
  • Step 14
  • take out of the oven and let cool for 1 hour, completely cooled
  • Step 15
  • theh refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours, then cut into bars
