  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or stock
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped or sliced. However you like it.
  • 1 sprinkle of dried oregano
  • 1 fresh parsley coarsely chopped
  • 1 head of broccolini, ends cut off and washed well. You can also chop in half if you want.
  • 1 sprinkle of crushed red pepper. Optional
  • 1 salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Fresh grated parmesan cheese

How to Make Pasta with garlic, oil and broccolini

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Pasta with garlic, oil and broccolini in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti or pasta of choice according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2
  • In a separate skillet add olive oil and garlic. Cook on medium low. Do not brown the garlic.
  • Step 3
  • When oil has cooked with garlic for about 5 minutes add chicken broth or stock and broccolini. Simmer until broccolini is tender but not mushy. You may have to add more oil and chicken broth.
  • Step 4
  • When broccolini is fork tender add your pasta and toss with oil garlic and broccolini. Add oregano, parsley and crushed red pepper. Cook until warmed through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 5
  • Plate your pasta and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese. Serve with a warmed slightly toasted loaf of buttered Italian bread, sliced.
