Ingredients: Patty's Slow cooked beef cubes on top of mountain of fluffy mash potatoes & gravy

  • 2 lb beef cubes or stew beef
  • 1 cup strong coffee prepared
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp onion powder or chopped 1 large onion
  • 2 tbsp grapeseed oil or corn or vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp Rosemary
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp celery seeds
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 2 beef bullion cubes or powder
  • 6 cup instant potatoes cooked or homemade
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cup Green beans
  • 2 tsp cornstarch ( heaping ) not leveled
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 black pepper

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 11 steps you must follow to make Patty's Slow cooked beef cubes on top of mountain of fluffy mash potatoes & gravy in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut beef cubes into 1 inch each.
  • Step 2
  • Heat oil in deep saute pan
  • Step 3
  • Add beef cubes to heated oil slowly
  • Step 4
  • Brown beef cubes on all side on high heat. Stir occasionally.

  • Add following: coffee, worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, water to just cover beef, ketchup. Stir. Bring to boil.
  • Step 6
  • Add the following: onion, garlic, rosemary, cumin, celery, oregano, bullion cubes, salt & pepper
  • Step 7
  • Reduce heat to low. Cover & simmer for 1 1/2 hrs
  • Step 8
  • Make instant potatoes (follow package directions), add sour cream and garlic to potatoes after they cool for 10 mins. If no sour cream you can replace with 2 tablespoons of mayo.
  • Step 9
  • Slice french bread to your desire and butter each slice and sprinkle garlic powder on each and oregano. Place under broiler for 2 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step 10
  • 5 minutes before beef is done, add 2 heaping teaspoons of cornstarch to a 1/2 cup of water and stir in cup until dissolved. Add water and cornstarch mixture to beef cubes to thicken the gray. Stir and boil for 2 minutes or until gravy thickens.
  • Step 11
  • Assemble: place a little bit of potatoes on plate then place french bread slice on top, then top off with more potatoes, then beef cubes and gravy, then add your cooked green beans. Enjoy!
