  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup unsalted peanuts
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp baking soda

How to Make Peanut Brittle

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Peanut Brittle in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Lightly grease a cookie sheet and set aside.
  • Step 2
  • In a heavy 2 quart saucepan, over medium heat, bring to a boil: sugar, salt, corn syrup, and water.
  • Step 3
  • Keep stirring until sugar is dissolved, then stir in peanuts.
  • Step 4
  • Set a candy thermometer in place and stir frequently until temperature reaches 300°F.
  • Step 5
  • Immediately remove from heat and stir in butter and baking soda.
  • Step 6
  • Pour onto cookie sheet. Using two forks, lift and pull the peanut mixture to form a rectangle about 14×12 inches.
  • Step 7
  • Let cool completely, then snap into pieces.
