  • 200 ml White wine
  • 80 grams Granulated sugar
  • 400 ml Water
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

  • Peel the pears and cut in half lengthwise. Remove the core by scooping it out with a teaspoon.

  • Put the white wine, granulated sugar, and water into a pot and bring to a boil to melt the sugar and boil off the alcohol. Then add the pears, making sure they are covered by the liquid.

  • I used Bartlett pears.

  • Lemon slices can sometimes create a bitter flavor, so I made a change to the recipe to use lemon juice instead.
