  • 1 lb thinly sliced carne asada
  • 2 cup rice
  • 2 green peppers
  • 2 red peppers
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms
  • 2 cup frozen broccoli
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • gravy
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 dash seasoning salt

How to Make PEPPER STEAK AND RICE

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 16 steps you must follow to make PEPPER STEAK AND RICE in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • heat cast iron skillet with oil
  • Step 2
  • add chopped veggies except for frozen broccoli
  • Step 3
  • saute veggies until they are soft but still a little crisp.

  • take veggies out of pan and add carne asada meat, add salt and pepper to taste
  • Step 5
  • after meat is cooked set to the side
  • Step 6
  • in the same pan add olive oil and butter cook on low until slightly browned with a nutty flavor and smell.

  • add water (about a cup to start off). its better to add the water or beef stock as you go. it'll get thicker as you cook.
  • Step 8
  • add seasoning salt, pepper and garlic powder. wisk then taste.
  • Step 9
  • add soy sauce taste as you go to make sure not to salty.
  • Step 10
  • add meat and veggies back into pan then stir.
  • Step 11
  • cook for 5 mins then add frozen broccoli.
  • Step 12
  • cook for another 10 mins.
  • Step 13
  • cook rice
  • Step 14
  • ****to plate****
  • Step 15
  • place rice in bowls then put pepper steak on top
  • Step 16
  • garnish with chopped green scallions and soy sauce
