  • 1 1/2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 3 Bay Leaves
  • 1 large Can of Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 can Lima Beans
  • 1 can Kidney Beans
  • 1 can Chick Peas
  • 1 can Pink Beans
  • 2 can Chopped Mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup Water

How to Make Perfect Canadian hot 'n sweet chili

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Perfect Canadian hot 'n sweet chili in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Chop peppers, onions, celery and tomato and put aside.
  • Step 2
  • Drain liquid from canned beans, chickpeas and mushrooms in a colander together and rinse thoroughly with water. Allow to drain well.
  • Step 3
  • Cook ground beef in frying pan, half of packaged chili seasoning and half of chopped onion until fully cooked but not too browned.
  • Step 4
  • Add all ingredients together in large pot or crockpot on low heat to gently simmer overnight or at least 6 hours, the longer the better, stirring every few hours. If preparing the night before and simmering overnight- add 1 additional cup of water to allow for evaporation.
