Ingredients: Philly Cheesesteak Burgers

  • for the veggies:
  • 1 tbsp oil of choice
  • 1 large onion, cut into half rings
  • 1 large green pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms (drained) (13oz. can)
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp season salt
  • 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • for the burgers:
  • 2 lb ground chuck or ground sirloin
  • 1 tbsp montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tbsp jack daniels steak sauce
  • 1/4 tsp season salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • other:
  • 4 kaiser hamburger rolls
  • 8 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 small handfulls shredded lettuce
  • 4 slice of a large tomato
  • 4 small handfulls shredded cheese of choice
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine

How to Make Philly Cheesesteak Burgers

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 17 steps you must follow to make Philly Cheesesteak Burgers in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • For the burgers:

  • In a large bowl, combine all burger ingredients. Mix well with hands.
  • Step 3
  • Make 4 equal half pound burgers. Form into patties. Place a small dimple in center. (This is to reduce shrinkage and help from plumping up to much in the middle)
  • Step 4
  • Cook burgerss how you like them done, skillet, grill, oven. Etc. Set aside and keep warm. ( cook veggies while these are cooking)

  • For the veggies:

  • Combine all veggie ingredients in a large skillet. Saute until veggies are tender but not mushy. Place in a bowl and set aside. Keep warm.

  • Assembly:

  • Toast buns if u wish, i do.. dab butter in skillet, place buns and cook until golden. Or use a grill.
  • Step 9
  • Place bottom of kaiser on a plate.
  • Step 10
  • Place burger on top.
  • Step 11
  • Spread mayo on top inside of bun.
  • Step 12
  • Top burger with sauted veggies.
  • Step 13
  • In a small saucepan.. add 1/4 tbl butter, melt it, add 1/4 of the shredded cheese, heat and stir until melted. Pour over burger.
  • Step 14
  • Add tomato and lettuce. (If desired)
  • Step 15
  • Top with top bun.
  • Step 16
  • Serve and enjoy!

  • NOTE: if u dont want half pound burgers, make 8 1/4 lb. Burgers. And you will just need a bit extra tomato, lettuce, cheese.. etc.. to cover each burger.
