Ingredients: Picadillo P-lo Style

  • 1 1/2 pound ground meat
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 2 medium chopped carrots
  • 4 potatoes chopped
  • Handful green olives
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 4 tablespoons minced garlic
  • Cooking oil
  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 chopped red and green pepper
  • 4 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • Ketchup

How to Make Picadillo P-lo Style

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Picadillo P-lo Style in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oil in frying pan or in a fryer once hot add chopped potatoes and fry until brown set aside when done(I also start my rice at this time)
  • Step 2
  • While frying potatoes add 4 tablespoons of olive oil to wok until heated on med high temp then add minced garlic for few minutes
  • Step 3
  • Then add carrots for few more minutes(3-5)
  • Step 4
  • Once onions cooked translucent and garlic starting to brown add hamburger meat
  • Step 5
  • Cook down until starting to brown thru and add soy sauce and seasons I use garlic powder ,salt ,pepper,& Lawrys salt
  • Step 6
  • Cook down until Liquid cooks down about 10-15 minutes and add olives ,peppers,frozen peas,and fried potatoes
  • Step 7
  • Give good mix and add ketchup to top and mix throughly add more seasonings
  • Step 8
  • Simmer for few more minutes then serve over rice!­čśő
  • Step 9
  • I get a high quality meat less grease but if to greasy just drain some out before you add last veggies and cook meat all the way down some juice is good so if drain might want to add 1/4 of water and cook down a little before add peas
