  • 30 grams salt
  • 1 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 liter cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp good sea salt

How to Make Pickled Onions

    Step 1
  • Salt peeled onions 12-24 hours
  • Step 2
  • Rinse well and dry
  • Step 3
  • Pack into sterilized jars (2quart)
  • Step 4
  • Simmer 5 minutes vinegar, 1tbspn sea salt, bay leaf and spices.
  • Step 5
  • Fill each jar with hot vinegar mix, give a little shake and remove air bubbles.
  • Step 6
  • Divide spices between the jars
  • Step 7
  • Place lids on jars and leave on the shelf for at least 10 days. The longer the better.
