  • 1/3 cup shortening or lard
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg

How to Make Pie Crust

    Step 1
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, shortening, butter and salt. Cut together until the fats are in small pea sized pieces.
  • Step 2
  • In a measuring cup mix together the cold water, vinegar, sugar, and egg with a fork.
  • Step 3
  • Add the liquids to the dry ingredients and blend with a fork. Form into a flattened ball. Dust the counter with flour and roll out the pastry.
  • Step 4
  • This pastry may be refrigerated or frozen for later use.
