  • 4 1/2 cup seeded and chopped Plums
  • 6 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 envelope Dry Pectin
  • 1/2 tbsp Unsalted Butter

How to Make Plum Jam

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Plum Jam in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put prepared Plums in pot with water and bring to rolling boil
  • Step 2
  • Boil for 20 minutes
  • Step 3
  • Add sugar, lemon juice, butter and pectin
  • Step 4
  • Bring to full rolling boil again stirring often
  • Step 5
  • Boil for five minutes do spoon on ice test to make sure it will set if not boil longer
  • Step 6
  • Put in sterilized 1/2 pint jelly jars and install lids and rings
  • Step 7
  • Put in water bath canner and boil for 10 minutes in water
  • Step 8
  • Take jars out of canner and let cool on counter test after cool to make sure jars sealed by pressing on tops of lids
