  • 100 grams butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 each egg
  • 1 each egg yolk

How to Make Pogaca (Turkish biscuit)

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Pogaca (Turkish biscuit) in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a large bowl mix first seven ingredients together. Work them with your hand until you have a soft dough. Do not overdo it.
  • Step 2
  • Put the dough in a plastic wrap and then in the fridge for at least 1 hr. I usually leave it overnight.
  • Step 3
  • When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350ºF/ 176ºC. In the meantime line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Step 4
  • Take a plum size piece from the dough, roll it in your hands a few times giving it a ball shape. Depending on the size, there should be 16 to 20 pogaca (biscuits).
  • Step 5
  • Use the egg yolk to brush the tops of the pogaca.
  • Step 6
  • Leave in the oven for about 20 minutes. Once done, let cool for 5 min and enjoy!
