Ingredients: Poke Cake

  • Cake
  • 1 box cake mix
  • 3 each eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 7 tbsp butter
  • Coconut Cream
  • 15 oz can cream of coconut
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz sweetened flaked coconut
  • Banana Pudding
  • 2 packages (3.4 oz) instant banana pudding
  • 4 cup cold milk
  • 20 each crushed vanilla wafers
  • Jello Poke
  • 1 box (4 serving size) raspberry or strawberry jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 fresh raspberries or strawberries
  • Topping
  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping

How to Make Poke Cake

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Poke Cake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Bake cake according to directions using the water, eggs and butter.
  • Step 2
  • While cake is still hot, poke holes all over cake with small poker or some sort, I use a skewer.
  • Step 3
  • For coconut cream: Use a white cake mix. Mix together cream of coconut and sweetened condensed milk and pour over cake making sure you cover entire cake and it soaks into the holes. Refrigerate until set. Frost with whipped topping and top with flaked coconut.
  • Step 4
  • For banana pudding: Use a yellow cake mix. Whisk together instant pudding with milk until lumps are gone. Let sit for about 2 minutes until it just begins to thicken but is still easily pourable. Pour over cake spreading evenly to get as much as possible into holes. May have to use something slightly larger like the handle of wooden spoon. Refrigerate until pudding is set. Frost with whipped topping and top with crushed vanilla wafers
  • Step 5
  • For Jello Poke: use white cake mix. In a small bowl, stir gelatin and boiling water until smooth and dissolved. Stir in cold water. Pour over completely cooled cake with slightly larger holes (use handle of wooden spoon). Refrigerate 2 hours. Frost with whipped topping and garnish with berries.
  • Step 6
  • Keep refrigerated.
