  • 2 lb boneless pot roast, cut into 1" cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 clove minced garlic
  • 1 large bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 can fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 12 porter or similar dark beer

How to Make Porter Chili

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Porter Chili in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In large stock pot or dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat and add meat.
  • Step 2
  • Cook for about 2 minutes then add onions and continue to cook until meat is browned and onions or golden.
  • Step 3
  • Add garlic, peppers, chili powder, paprika, and pepper flakes. Stir until spices become fragrant.
  • Step 4
  • Add the rest of the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
  • Step 5
  • Cover and simmer over low heat for at least 1 hour, until the beef is fully tender.
