  • 4-5 Potatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 50 g Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to Make Potato Rösti

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Potato Rösti in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Peel and coarsely grate the potatoes
  • Step 2
  • Dry the potato strips by wrapping them in a clean towel and given it a good squeeze!
  • Step 3
  • Chop up the onion and garlic. Red onions look particularly great.
  • Step 4
  • Mix it all up
  • Step 5
  • Set the pan to medium/medium-low heat and melt the butter so it covers the whole pan
  • Step 6
  • Spread out the potato mix in a 2 cm layer. Mash it together a bit so it's tight.
  • Step 7
  • After 15 mins on one side, flip it over. You can use a plate like I did to cover and flip. It doesn't have to be from Ikea.
  • Step 8
  • Do another 15 mins on the other side. The potatoes should be crisp on the outside and soft on the inside!
