  • 1/2 large Tomato
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1/2 medium Carrot
  • 1 medium Potatoes
  • 1 medium Eggplant - small Japanese type
  • 1 medium Green peppers
  • 1 Other vegetables of your choice
  • 1 clove Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 200 ml Tomato juice or tomato puree
  • 1 Salt and pepper
  • 1 Red chili pepper
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons Olive oil

How to Make Ratatouille

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Ratatouille in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut all the vegetables into same-sized cubes.
  • Step 2
  • Put a generous amount of olive oil (2-3 tablespoons) in a frying pan. Add the garlic and red chili pepper and fry until the flavours develop.
  • Step 3
  • Start frying the vegetables, starting with the firm ones and adding the softer ones as you go.
  • Step 4
  • When they are mostly cooked through, season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 5
  • Add the tomato juice or tomato puree and simmer. Simmer over a low heat until there is not much liquid left in the pan.
  • Step 6
  • It's done!! It's easy but delicious . Serve it on a piece of baguette. Bon Appétit!!
  • Step 7
  • If you want to sweeten it, add ketchup or Worcestershire-type sauce to taste!
