  • 6 medium Potatoes
  • tbsp Butter
  • 1 kg Cod, or Haddock or smoked yellow Fish
  • 1 bunch Spring Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Paprika
  • 1 Plain Flour. to sprinkle on surface
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Dried Parsley
  • 1/2 tsp Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 liter Veg oil enough in a saucepan or electric deep fryer to cover fishcake.

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There is 1 step you must follow to make REAL FISH CAKES IN BATTER in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Peel Potatoes and put on gas to boil. While potatoes boil, Chop Fish of your Choice , and Spring Onions into Small size pieces . Put in large bowl to mix Potatoes in. Make Batter mix and add paprika . And in a small bowl break eggs and just pour in egg White . Mash the potatoes and add Butter and mash well. Mix Mash with the Fish and Spring Onion, then add Thyme , Parsley, salt and Pepper . Flour the surface with plain flour and Grab a hand full of the Mixture, roll and pat it into a round shape you can keep it round or flatten it a little to 2 inch depth and 3 inch circular shape. Makes about 6-8 fish cakes depending on the size you want. Heat up veg oil until it is hot enough to fry around 170 - 180°F. Dip the fish mixture in egg white cover all over dip it into the batter mix and with a spatula lower into the hot oil Fry for 1 min or until Batter is golden take them out or just do one at a time and put them on a greased baking tray and cook on 175 or gas mark 6 for about
