  • 1/2 oil
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg

  • 2 tbsp Red food colouring
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup All purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp White vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup coffee( 1/4 cup hot water+ 1/4 teaspoon coffee granules)

How to Make Red velvet cupcakes

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Red velvet cupcakes in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preaheat oven to 350°F or 170℃. Line pan with paper liners.
  • Step 2
  • In a bowl, sift flour, add cocoa powder,baking powder,baking soda,salt and mix.
  • Step 3
  • In another bowl, mix oil and sugar, beat in egg. Add the buttermilk (if not available, you can mix 1teaspoon of white vinegar and 1/2 cup milk), add food colour, coffee and vinegar.
  • Step 4
  • Mix in flour. Careful not to overmix.
  • Step 5
  • Pour batter into pan and bake until toothpick inserted in the centre comes out a bit crumbly. Remove from oven and cool before removing from pan.
  • Step 6
  • Cool completely before frosting. This cake tastes amazing with cream cheese frosting. Enjoy
