  • 14 oz Bag of fresh cranberries
  • 1 2/3 cup Red Zinfandel (1/2 bottle)
  • 1 cup White sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 each Cinnamon sticks
  • 6 each Cloves - crushed up
  • 1 tsp Allspice
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 Orange jest ( without white part)

How to Make Red Zinfandel Cranberry Sauce

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 2 steps you must follow to make Red Zinfandel Cranberry Sauce in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put everything in a large pot except cranberries. Bring to a simmer. Stir frequently. Once sugars are disolved let simmer for 12minutes. Strain into a large bowl. Should measure a bit under 2 cups.
  • Step 2
  • Pour strained liquid back into pot. Add cranberries. They will begin popping like popcorn. Pour the remaining Zinfandel into a wine glass and enjoy while stirring the cranberries occasionally. After 25 or so minutes turn off burner and let cool.
