Ingredients: Roasted Duck

  • 1 Duck (about 6lbs)
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Orange
  • 1 dash Freshly Ground Peppercorn
  • 1 dash Salt
  • 1 dash Parsley or Fresh Parsley Clove

How to Make Roasted Duck

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Roasted Duck in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preparation: -Make sure duck is fully thawed. -Clean out Giblets. -Trim loose skin around neck of duck. -Trim excess fat around main cavity. -Rinse whole duck under cold water. -Pierce JUST the skin of the duck, do not pierce the meat. (This helps with the skin getting crispy)
  • Step 2
  • Preheat Oven or Grill to 350°F.
  • Step 3
  • Quarter the onion and orange, then stuff the duck.
  • Step 4
  • Season duck with freshly ground peppercorn, and salt.
  • Step 5
  • Put the duck directly on your grill, or on a baking sheet if you're using the oven.
  • Step 6
  • Cooking time should be approx. 2 1/2 - 3 hours. (Make sure the meat temp reads 160 degrees).
  • Step 7
  • After 2 1/2 hours, sprinkle parsley on top of duck, and increase heat to 375 (this will help crisp the skin and also add color to the duck.)
  • Step 8
  • After 30 minutes at 375, remove the duck and cover with a foil tent, and let stand for about 15 minutes.
  • Step 9
  • Serve and enjoy!!
