Ingredients: Roasted Garlic Hummus

  • 1 bulb garlic
  • 1 (15 oz) can garbanzo beans
  • 3 T EVOO
  • 1 T tahini
  • 1 lemon (zested)
  • 1/2 lemon (juiced)
  • 1/4 t cumin
  • kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 t pine nuts (coarsely chopped, toasted)

How to Make Roasted Garlic Hummus

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Roasted Garlic Hummus in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Step 2
  • Peel some of the loose outer leave of the garlic bulb Cut 1 quarter off the top of the bulb exposing the cloves.
  • Step 3
  • Wrap garlic in foil. Place directly on middle rack of oven and bake until cloves feel soft when pressed. 30-35 mins. Set aside until cool enough to handle.
  • Step 4
  • Squeeze garlic into food processor. Add beans, oil, tahini, lemon zest and juice, cumin 1/4 t salt, 1/4 t black pepper. Process until smooth. If too thick add 1 T of warm water.
  • Step 5
  • Sprinkle with pine nuts and serve with HOMEMADE PITA CHIPS.
