  • 8 cup flour
  • 8 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 225 grams butter
  • 600 ml buttermilk

How to Make Rusks

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Rusks in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • preheat oven to 180°F Celsius
  • Step 2
  • Sift and mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. other things like raisins can be added if substituted for flour.
  • Step 3
  • mix in butter and buttermilk
  • Step 4
  • knead the stiff dough that results then put it in a greased tin and bake for an hour.
  • Step 5
  • once loaf is crispy on top cut into slices, then cut each slice into little fingers.
  • Step 6
  • dry fingers overnight in a warm oven. (50-80 °C)
