  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 white onion- finely chopped
  • 4 clove garlic- crushed
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes, drain most of the fruid
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 lb uncooked deveined large shrimp
  • 1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh oregano
  • 1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh parsley
  • 6 oz feta cheese, crumbled

How to Make Saganaki Shrimp

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Saganaki Shrimp in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oil in a large OVEN-PROOF skillet. Add onion and garlic and cook until onion softens.
  • Step 2
  • Add tomatoes and wine. Bring to a boil then cover it and let it simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 3
  • Leaving shrimp tails intact, add them to the skillet along with parsley and oregano.
  • Step 4
  • Preheat broiler while shrimp cooks covered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 5
  • Sprinkle cheese over shrimp mixture and place under broiler until cheese browns lightly.
